May and June is a little early in the season for most fresh fruits, but you can still find some.
One day on my trip in Europe, near Verona, Italy, I went on a tour at Redoro Olive Oil. After the tour, the group I was traveling with drove through the countryside lined with grape vines and olive trees to Locanda Dell'Oleificio for lunch. However, the roads of the countryside are narrow in places and twist and turn through the hills. As one can imagine the roads are difficult to navigate on their own much less on a large carter bus.
On one of the turns, the bus struggled to make it around. The driver had to back up and pull forward numerous times to make it around. Thanks to the perseverance of the wonderful coach driver and a local farmer who was stopped on the side of the road, the bus made the turn. After we made the turn, the farmer ran after the bus with a bag of cherries he and his wife had in the car. Those cherries were some of the best I have had.
