It is impossible to see, do and eat everything while traveling, but, depending on trip, there is time to get a good sampling of what a place has to offer. Before my trip to Europe, I researched some things I wanted to do in my free time, but I just got ideas. I did not make any set plans or purchase tickets beforehand in case someone else on the trip presented a better idea. However, if there is something that you definitely want to do in a destination and would regret not doing it, then absolutely plan for it and buy tickets if needed.
Beer

Germany has more than 1200 breweries. There is a wide variety of beers to try though the stay. One of my favorites from the trip was the Radler, a sweet, refreshing combination of lemonade and beer. Wheat beer is also extremely popular, but is heavier and more filling.
Hofbrauhaus

Even if you do not like beer, Hofbrauhaus is a German experience. The historic beer hall has been an observer of history as people gather to eat, drink steins of beer, and sing and dance to polka music. It is loud and at times crowded, but a memorable experience.
German potato salad

German potato salad is not your usual backyard barbeque potato salad. It has a slightly mashed consistency, though not close enough to be considered mashed potatoes, with a subtle sweet and sour flavor, generally due to apple cider vinegar. Pair it with a bratwurst, white sausage, soft pretzel, or strudel and you will be full for hours.
Pizzesco Pizza

Delicious pizza outside of Italy! It is always good to find foods that you know, but that have a slight twist based on where you are. This hole in the wall pizzeria was right around the corner from the hotel I stayed at and a short walk to the Isar River.
BMW Welt

Munich is home of the world headquarters of BMW. The main office building, BMW Tower, is shaped like the four cylinders of a car engine. Next to the Tower is Welt, which serves a museum, showrunner, car dealership, and entertainment space. BMW Welt is even more of an architectural phenom that BMW Tower as a high ceiling represents air and is held up with minimal supports that would be intrusive to the interior.
1972 Olympic Park

I am a huge sports fan, including the Olympic Games. After Olympic Games venues are taken over by local organizations, torn down, or left to deteriorate. The Olympic Park in Munch, primarily the pool and indoor and outdoor arenas, are still used in addition to being the foundation for a large park surrounding it. The chairs of the stadium were a lime green color, very much reflecting 1970s style, and the ticket counters look like something out of Star Wars.
